A simple site which showcases the powerful contribution a local charity can make to their users' lives and wider community.
Yoomee's process is so rigorous - they really helped us to get the most out of the site, and it's allowed us to create something with the capacity to evolve.
What we did
- Scoping and strategy
- Branding and design
- Content management system
- Bespoke web development
Sheffield Mencap and Gateway develops and delivers activities and services to improve the quality of life for people with learning disabilities and their families.
Yoomee was delighted to help them brand and build a new website with more power to pull in funding, connect service users and their carers and generally show everyone the brilliant stuff they do.
“The site really needs to achieve quite a lot”, explains head of fundraising, Lucy McKane. “That’s why it was so helpful that Yoomee’s process is so rigorous – they really helped us to get the most out of the site, and it’s allowed us to create something with the capacity to evolve. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them.”The new site relies on a range of staff posting events and news to keep their groups updated via a simple, structured content management system, and a password protected online chat area is a great way to connect parents and carers, to create their own informal support. We commissioned photography to tell the real story of what the charity achieves, and kept our designs bright, clear and friendly – a reflection of the organisation’s character and approach.
“We certainly benefited from Yoomee’s experience in the charity sector and specifically their expertise in accessibility”, says Lucy. “We have a long-term objective to raise our visibility in Sheffield and resonate with funders – they understood that. We’ve had fantastic feedback from users, and from my own perspective, the CMS is really easy to use. I’d not hesitate to recommend Yoomee.”
