We were chuffed to be asked by Sheffield City Council to work on Shop Sheffield, a new site that connects and profiles local retailers, and makes shopping altogether more enjoyable, all through a highly useable, Google Maps-based site.

The site has something for everyone - the latest news, updateable profiles and social network integration for retailers, offers and events for shoppers, and retail jobs in the city. Beginning with scoping and strategy, we moved on to build a site complete with bespoke Flash game, Google Map mash-up and e-mail newsletter to keep registered retailers informed. Shoppers can easily access information on their favourite shops and brands, offers, city centre events, and a powerful map search facility. Less time traipsing, more time shopping!

Take-up has exceeded expectation and Sheffield City Council is pushing for even more registrants. "We've had a very positive reception", adds Rachel. "I know retailers see great value in Shop Sheffield because even the national chains have signed up, appreciating the local insight and opportunities the site gives them."
